Richard Stanton has been a full time freelance photographer since 1995, providing a professional, comprehensive and innovative service to the national media. He works for newspapers, magazines and web–based media, PR and commercial clients across the country. Since 2015 Richard has added videography to his portfolio and his film-making has been showcased on the BBC. He also offers aerial filming and photography to clients.
Working as a professional freelance photographer and videographer, Richard covers the fields of portraiture, sport, news, editorial, features, case studies, pr and marketing - but he is not limited by style or subject matter.
His work has been published widely at home and abroad.
Richard is located in the Midlands close to the Welsh Borders allowing him prompt access to Birmingham, Chester, Gloucester, Worcester, Shrewsbury, the Midlands (Staffordshire, Cheshire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire & Worcestershire) and Mid Wales.
He is not limited to any geographical location however, and regularly travels nationally and across Europe for commissions.
Richard is a member of EPUK and the Bureau of Freelance Photographers. He works to industry standard rates and fees as endorsed by the NUJ.
Richard uses professional Canon equipment and location lighting. When required, (e.g., if capturing live sport or breaking news) he can work to immediate deadlines.

Richard has a BSc. (Hons) from Harper Adams University College and a Post Graduate Diploma in Photojournalism from Cardiff University. He lives with his wife Rhiannon, their daughter Isabella and their three dogs Wotsit, Remi and Luna. When he’s not behind the camera he can be found snow boarding, hiking to the top of a mountain or riding his road bike (show off!)
